*** Quoting Don Box to Glenn Vermette ***
DB> Hey Glenn, you're back! We were just talking about you!!! :)
DB>
DB> Police matters concern the public. I (we) are the public. Ya never
DB> know when we'll need to protect ourselves from our government,
DB> and one
DB> of the best ways to stay on top of things is to monitor the
DB> behaviour
DB> of those in power.
Good idea, however when one has little or no knowledge of how certain things
really work, and make assumptions based on ignorance, then it is those people
that the rest of us need protecting from. Like I said before, the cops
probably don't sit around and talk about plumbers or electricians, and try
and second guess why these did this or that when they haven't a clue how they
operate, so why do the same with the police. The best course of actions is
that if you are in doubt about something they do, just ask!
And as for the radio transmitter/recorder that started this, all people have
to do is THINK just a tiny bit and they'd be able to figure it out, without
jumping to wild speculations like occurred here.
THINK about it...so the cop wants to be able to turn on and off the recorder
that he is going to use right? So suppose you're the cop, going to meet some
ratbag. You gonna record dead air while the guy isn't even there? Of course
not! But the bonehead who made this assumption, didn't bother to use his
brain and THINK about it before he opened his yap.
DB> Besides, a police officer wouldn't EVER have anything to hide,
DB> would
DB> they?
Only from the bad guys....and even then...not for long...
What by chance do YOU THINK a police officer would have to hide? And why?
And so nice to hear that you've been thinking/talking of me...
