i always drive very carefully between taree and newcastle. one time i

was heading south at a slightly illegal speed, another car came past

doing probably 140-150k. a falcon coming the other way locked his

wheels, slid to a halt, lit up the tyres in a screaming uie, and headed

south. about 2k further on he was booking the other car. don't know

which one he was, starski or hutch but i think that he was spending

the fines in rubber (:

KR> ps. i think that the act cops are using laser speed traps,

KR> it looked very much like one i saw there the other week.

RS> Wouldnt surprise me, they have been talking about it for long enough.

BG> As long ago as 18 months, I saw what was probably a laser trap being used

 BG> yet.

driving around sydney, if you see a falcon with very dark window

tinting, assume it to be a cop with a mobile radar. some have the radar

mounted on the dash. on of my workmates actually saw one with the radar

mounted on the rear drivers side window, but hanging *inside*, well i

suppose that as it was a cop driving, there was no worry about brain

dammage (:
