AZ> > I'm trying to port my DOS DDPLUS door to OS/2.. How do I > access the modem in Virtaul Pascal/2? AZ> In general, you access the modem in *any* language under OS/2 by simply open a COMn device, and reading from and writing to it. Most of the complicated stuff, e.g. setting BPS rates and handshake protocols, are performed via category 1 DosDevIOCtl calls (see your OS/2 Developers' Toolkit for more information). However, since you are writing a door, it is a fair assumption that the program that is calling the door will have set up the COM device properly, and that all that your door will be interested in is writing out data and reading responses. For more information on serial I/O using Virtual Pascal for OS/2, contact David Muir of 1:259/423.0, who posted a fair amount of VP source for serial I/O here in the OS2PROG echo back in August. > JdeBP < ___ X MegaMail 2.10 #0: --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: DoNoR/2,Woking UK (44-1483-725167) (2:440/4) SEEN-BY: 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 712/407 515 SEEN-BY: 712/517 628 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 440/4 141/209 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
