David, at 13:06 on May 31 1995, you wrote to Paul Edwards...

You can make your life a bit easier by running mode.exe from an OS/2
session, immediately after booting your machine. You'll get a display
similar to the one below, then you can see those which are already the
system defaults, which will save you deleting them unnecessarily from your
mode command.

[OS/2] D:\>mode com2
baud     = 57600                  parity   = NONE
databits = 8                      stopbits = 1
TO = OFF XON = ON
IDSR = OFF ODSR = OFF
OCTS = ON DTR = OFF
RTS = HS BUFFER = ON

These are not the defaults, as I'd already set up the port previously. My
own successful mode command is...

MODE COM2:57600,N,8,1,DTR=OFF,RTS=HS,OCTS=ON,TO=ON,XON=OFF,BUFFER=ON

Anything not specified system-default to the settings I need to use.

Regards, Bill
