        Being in UK you hould be able to dig up a copy of the 
        first Back Door album. It's amazing, blues based but very 
        jazzy prog. Later album are much more bluesy. But they 
        all have good moments and are worth listening to IMO. The 
        first is a true classic. 
 
        As for the Groundhogs, _Thank Christ for the Bomb_ is a 
        truly fine record. With Blodwyn Pig check out _A Head 
        Rings Out_. Colloseum is a decent band, too; start with 
        their live album. 
 
        I'm not saying these bands sound like Zep, just that they 
        are fine blues-based UK prog. 
 
        Then there were the prog bands that started out as blues 
        bands, like the Moody Blues and Jethro Tull.

        Of course this is off-topic: 
 
        As a Canadia citizen, married to a Canadian, with both my 
        children born in Canada, I have a right to say the 
        following: 
 
        It is the most stunningly beautiful country on earth. 
 
        Also, it's a banal and fascist country, smug, arrogant, 
        boring and intensely mediocre, a nation of the cowed and 
        the cowardly, completely dominated by a venal and evil 
        and tiny ruling class. It isn't really a country at all, 
        that's just a convenient commercial concept imposed from 
        above. The people don't like each other and they don't 
        even like themselves; they are petty and mean, and only 
        out for what they can get for themselves - they have 
        always been treated like children and there is no suprise 
        that is the way the act. However, they have an elaborate 
        propaganda machine set up to flatter themselves that they 
        are wonderful and they will not believe any evidence 
        which flies in the face of their elaborate fantasy. They 
        even believe that their inferiority complex makes them 
        superior, and they see no irony or contradiction in that. 
        They are brainwashed dolts. 
 
        However, it's a very nice country to visit, except for 
        the general unfirendliness of the population, and it 
        makes a fine tourist destination.

        Would that they were true.
