Has this actually been done for locos? A practical disadvantage, might be the
risk of damage due to unbalanced firing ie too much fire while too little
throttle. The sluggishness of a conventional [steel wheeled] pressure cooker,
gives the fireman early warning of troubles in store, assuming he is awake 
nd
sober.
