But only fools insist on maintaining a numbering system "just becuase".

Over here the international access code used to be 09. Special service
numbers started with 00. We all changed that to come into line with ITU and
CEPT recommendations....

Our National emergency number used to be 0611. We changed that to 112 to
get in line with ITU and CEPT recommendations....
