Maybe they shouldn't be worn.  But really, it's not moot - additional 
restrictions and law enforcement stumbling blocks to your bicycling are 
heading YOUR way unless you begin to organize against them.  The oil 
companies, car manufacturers, and medical~industrial complex will more than 
happy to hear how complacent you are because they'd like to get rid of 
bicycling once and for all.
