Ah, they can't? Why can't there be a police organization that fights against
brutality? What is the FOP's position on the recent rape in New York where
the
cops raped a man with a plunger, I wonder.. ? What would have happened in the
60's had the police said, "No, I will NOT attack a black man for standing up
for his rights."
I know it might be comforting for the "Ask a Cop" echo to be nice and
sanitized
for you, with questions about radar guns or whatever, but this is the 90's -
and there is an entire generation of people growing up hating the police,
drawn
on lines of race and class. When you were 12 years old, could you imagine
your
favorite song being "F*ck the Police" ..? What we're discussing is entirely
relevant.
