Rod and Mum are poms, though so it has influenced me a bit.

What ticks me off here is that Mike preaches that the kids should try
new things and be open to other cultures, but when confronted with new
words, phrases etc he's either disgusted or says "Oh.", like I've gone
right off.   :-(
