there is no way that ppoint itself could do this as the messagebase only
goes back to mid may. i presume that the dupes apeared on tuesday, i
used my ancient compaq 286 laptop for the first time in months on sunday
night, and it is possible that there was a .out file in that. thanks for
letting me know, i've put an extra line in the laptop's ppoint bat file
to kill any old .outs that may lurk there in future.
