What about you? Good for you.. but anecdotes - no matter how personal they
are
- really don't make any difference here.

Hey, you know how much an NFL player makes? That's not an IT position either.
But take a look in the want-ads and notice what jobs are left in the
"General"
columns ... pretty scarce pickings.

And maybe I will. I plan on it, at least. But that doesn't change anything of
what I'm talking about. I am lucky enough to have self-taught computer
skills,
and I can look in a different column in the want-ads than "general" .. before
that, I was lucky enough that my dad's friend got me a construction job where
I
could learn how to roof and side, which is an okay job. But it still doesn't
change a fact that the real wage is plummeting, even a degree doesn't go as
far
anymore, etc etc.

Don't believe everything that you hear.
