it's more like your phone company's lines aren't consistent across the 
board... if you can get 45k connect one time, then you should be able to get 
that or pretty close most of the time. it is very likely that you have 
marginal phone lines in your area. it is also very possible that your phone 
company has some marginal line cards or other equipment in the routes that 
your calls may take... it's also possible that the problem is in the Long 
Distance link... a lot of stuff that's not within your hands to fix, eh?
no matter what anyone says, we are still at the mercy of the phone 
companies...
