AWL> 1/ AVTECH is a FidoNet echo, XT_ETC isn't...

PE> What's wrong with being a "fidonet echo"?

AWL> I'm not a FidoNet Sysop... NFSE

So? You can start your own echo without being a sysop. In fact,
Frank, Brenton + Bob did exactly that here. Called WANK_FOREVER
or something. Totally passthrough here, but no-one else can hook
into it.

AWL> 2/ XT_ETC can be got to Melbourne, I don't think AVTECH
AWL> exists down there...

PE> Yes it does.

AWL> Where? I know some folk who'd probably like to see it...

Ask Edward Livermore. Also ask Rowan Crowe and Andrew Clarke.
David Nugent even posted in AUST_AVTECH once, so try there too.
Just look at the origin address of the messages and look up the
nodelist yourself.

AWL> 3/ AVTECH is large, XT_ETC will probably never go much over
AWL> a dozen messages a week...

PE> So will slot into AVTECH easily. BFN. Paul.

AWL> Not from the point of view of AVTECH being a FidoNet Echo...

What possible disadvantage do you see in that? BTW, what are you
calling a "Fidonet Echo"? Is LOCUSER a fidonet echo? What about
FOURTH_REICH? BFN. Paul.
