>> MM> Vladimir's 6:770/92 nodelist entry is invalid as there is no details >> MM> on how to contact the node (no IP address or phone number). >> Why? Field "phone number" contains valid IP-address - 213.134.221.195 and >> this system supports binkp according to flag IBN. WD> I fully concur with Malcolm. yeah, you've always been against anything that let old school software maintain and at least try to keep up with new technologies :( FrontDoor has no problems with 000-111.222.111.222 in the phone number field... it easily distinguishes that 000- country code indicates an IP node... it also easily distinguishes that any possible blah- portion of the phone number indicates something other than a POTS number... i've used 000- to indicate TELNET and 0000- to indicate VMODEM... i've also used other combinations (ie: 911-) to indicate DONOTCALL... no big deal... the big deal seems to come from others who have software that didn't follow along with all the available possibilities AT THE TIME and now that other software is out, the fingers are pointed _outside_ FTN's original purposes, capabilities, and phonebook... )\/(ark* Origin: (1:3634/12) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 3634/12 106/2000 633/267 |
