Now how can you say that? You're unforgettable. ;-)

Journalism? Not bad. When you win the Pulitzer, we can all say "ah but we
knew him when...."
I continue to subscribe to too many horse magazines, and lurk here on the
echo, instead of doing something useful like really taking riding lessons.
You know you've subscribed to too many horse magazines when you start getting
a bazillion letters asking you to subscribe to magazine A (which you already
get), which obviously came from being on magazine B's mailing list, and vice
versa.
So what kind of writing tickles your fancy the most?
Journalism can be one of the most interesting things going. If you're doing
feature articles, for instance, you have an automatic excuse to do any kind
of research you want, and an in to talk to all sorts of fascinating people.
It's amazing what people will tell you if you say you're writing an article
on something. Only actors have it better, because they sometimes get to hang
out with their subjects for months on end.
On the other hand, most of the journalists I tend to meet are the guys who
want to come in, pick my brain, and have me tell them all the stuff they need
for their article, with hardly so much as a thank you. I dislike being
pumped for information for an article somebody else is going to get paid for.
If I have to hold their hands and tell them the whole article's worth of
stuff, and they can't be bothered to do a lick of research on their own, then
why isn't the editor paying me?
So don't you be like that. Before you go in to interview somebody, be sure
to do your homework. And have fun!
