Greetings eo all!

As of January 2, 2010, Gord Hannah will be moderating this echo.  Gord
lives in a lovely home in Dawson Creek, British Columbia which itself is
far enough North [55ø North Latitude] to make its residents true
northerners.  Gord has also been in Fidonet a long time and even knows how
to moderate as he is moderator of the Artware echo.

I add that Dawson Creek also has an enduring link with Yukon and Alberta. 
The city is Mile 0 of the Alaska [Alcan] Highway and is only 894 miles
south of Whitehorse, my home.  For we northerners, that is an easy two day
drive. 

AS for moderation, I have no diffiulty with the extended discussion of
Canada's tax-based single pay system and the U.S. equivalent.  However, one
might want to look at the ways medical services are delivered in the North
because the vast distances and Yukon's and Alaska's sparse and scattered
population create special problems and special mechanisms to deal with
them.
