I'm told that the moder V6 is comparable in power to what a V8 was in the sixties and seventies. That may very well be the case. I am having slight occasional troubles with my car, but with 164,000 miles on it (it's a 1990 model) it's to be expected that some things will go wrong with it now and then. My truck, by comparison, is a 1978, has a motor in it that came out of a 1975 car, and runs fine, if a bit less efficiently than the motor in the car. If I get the funds together, and the opportunity to snag stuff out of a later-model wreck, I'll take the engine, transmission, and electronics out of something newer and fuel-injected, and put that in the truck. It'd be a big job, but well worth it, I think, just for the increased fuel economy and longevity I'd get out of the setup. ---* Origin: TANSTAAFL BBS 717-838-8539 (1:270/615) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 270/615 150/220 379/1 106/1 2000 633/267 |
