KJ> Jovi" before I got HER...). Are Princess and Scoobie related?
 > No...they aren't...I got them from the same breeder but Scoobie
 > was a handfed that she got from another breeder that couldn't
 > handfeed at the time he was born...;-) Princess is from one of
 > her own pair...;-)
KJ> That's good, just in case things get a little TOO friendly.
       He he he...I knew that...I don't want to breed because I don't
know enough...if it should happen that they decide to...I'll have
to recruit the help of my new found friend...their breeder...I
would never attempt to hand feed without guidance...I couldn't or
wouldn't take the chance of injuring one of these precious little
       beings....;-)
 > She is a sweetheart...but she isn't real smart...she doesn't
 >like to perch on my finger...almost seems like her feet are too
 > big...;-) But she can get on the swing and do some crazy
 > things...;-)
KJ> If she can swing, she'll figure out the rest. She's just unsure of
KJ> herself. As to big feet, she'll grow into them. Hen cockatiels are
KJ> usually bigger than males, at least the ones I have are bigger!
He is very very small and is over a year old now...but he is like
the runt of a litter of kittens or pups...he is healthy...and
       active...very active...and a real character...haven't heard of
anyother little guy that hee haw's like a donkey...have you???
She is 4 months old and much bigger than he is...but not too
aggressive....she holds her own...with him when they are out
playing...;-) She and he call each other when I have one or the
other out of eye contact from the other one...but I spend special
time with each of them...of course Scoobie gets the first special
       time...and she gets a treat...;-)
 > Well I'm hoping that they get along...but I'm not to sure I want
 > to breed them...;-)
KJ> Just watch'em closely when they're out together.
He hehe...don't you think she is a bit young yet....I didn't
think I had to worry about them for a while yet....;-)
KJ> 7/8 inch. Hmmm... those dimensions sound like what I have my conures
KJ> in. There is some risk involved in putting tiels into a big-bar cage
KJ> like that. Some tiels never try to put their heads out, others make a
KJ> career out of it. I had my first tiel in a cage with that bar spacing
KJ> for 8 years, and he got stuck once, during a fear attack. Other than
KJ> that, he did fine in it. But knowing what I know now, I wouldn't use
KJ> that cage again. I'd recommend against it. You could use it as an
KJ> enclosed play area while you are sitting right there, but I wouldn't
KJ> house them in it when you're away from home.
He hehe..I was afraid you were going to say that...;-)
Now I have the choice of selling the cage and buying an
appropriated one for them or getting another bird....he
       hehe...;-)
 > If this cage isn't right for them....what kind of bird can it be
 > for???? Not likely to get a 'too or an African Gray....so how
 > about something a little smaller????
KJ> A CONURE, Sue--this size cage is perfect for a single conure!
He hehe...in a way I was hoping you were going to say that...;-)
Well now I have to do some soul searching...I don't know if I
want to get into another bird...I'm happy with these two...I
would like a peachface lovebird...and I have a friend that is
going to build me a play pen for the top of their present
cage....A couple of months ago I was shopping at IKEA near where
I live and I was wearing a cockatiel pin on my shirt...the woman
at the check out offered me an AG for $30 plus his cage...I
didn't have the money at the time...and didn't tkae her name and
address....but if and when I get a chance to get back there I'm
going to try and see if she is around...if she still has the bird
my friend the breeder would like to have the bird...but in a way
so would I....although the breeder is set up better than I to do
quarantine....I know to be suspicious of something this
cheap...but she said she just couldn't stand the bird....I'd love
to try with one of them....;-)
 > Thanks Kathy...;-) Looks like the bird bug has bitten me..;-)
KJ> Uh oh, somebody forgot to get her vaccinations!
He he he...yea....ain't that the truth...;-) If things go good
in my life in the next year...it looks like I'm going to be
traveling back and forth between here (PA) and Florida twice a
year for two weeks at a time...depending on how we are going to
do this....the birds will either go with me or spend the time at
the breeders....cage and all....I don't want to aquire another
       bird from a pet shop...I prefer from a breeder...so I might check
out other birds down there....;-) I'm not going to make any big
changes right now....;-) I like my little family....and Scoobie
is still my baby.....now what next breeding season might bring
       I'm not sure...;-)

Thank you for the advice...I was afraid you were going to tell me
that the cage was wrong for them...but that's ok...I'll deal with
it..it is just so nice and big...;-)
