1) For a very long time, if not forever, piles of routed netmails will
   disappear in a black hole. To avoid this from happening
   all R50-nodes will have to be listed in 2 zones ... probably until hell
   freezes over. The maintenance of that will be ... interesting;
2) Technically all nodes in every zone will need to adapt their
   routing-tables, how simple it may be, by adding a statement to deal with
   7:*/*. It is unlikely that many will do that.
3) In the magnitude of 3,500 sysops of R50 will need to besically alter
   their complete set-up ... many, if not most, will not do that.
4) What about those already using a 7:othernet? No routing possible without
   5D-addressing.

Fidonet is supposed to be a technology-driven co-operative network. So far
I have not seen a technical raison-d'ˆtre to split-off in a separate zone,
or move to another zone in block. You are most welcome to provide such a
"technical" reasoning though if you have one.

And why change/move/introduce something which already works technically?

It is the dream of just a few for pure personal reasons. Or have you failed
to notice that R50 is the fastest declining portion of the nodelist?

Take care,
