There are plenty of new ways to distribute Babylon 5 being invented.
Please ensure that the new contract contains a clause that covers new
ways of selling, renting and broadcasting. Both paying residues and
authorising the studio to distribute.
Note on bargaining power. Suits are employees not founder/owners. They
and the company are judged on quarterly and annual profit figures.
Since they will probably be in a different job in 2 years time it is
unlikely they will not be too worried about a cheque someone else signs
in 5 years time. To the writers and producers future residues are a
pension.
Example of a possible new method of distribution.
4 GB USB Flash Drives

If you edit out the extras you can get a feature movie on 4 GB of
memory; DVDs are 4.7 GB (giga-bytes).
By 2017 Silicon Valley will have developed flash drives that allow all 5
seasons of Babylon 5 to be held on a key ring. Just the thing that
truckers need to pass those long evenings away from home.
