how?!!? 000- when used like this is a "country code"... mailers
have to have their local country code defined, somehow, somewhere... they
also have to have their local access area codes defined somehow,
somewhere... these two are generally stripped from the number and only the
needed portion is dialed...
ie: 1-919-555-0100 is the number
1- is my country code
919- is my area code
my mailer then knows that it only has
to dial 555-0100 to connect
1-912-555-0100 is the number
1- is my country code
912- is not my area code
my mailer then knows that it has to at
least dial 912-555-0100 to connect.
however, there is another config setting,
generally called the "long distance"
setting, that comes into play. in my case,
that LD setting is to dial a 1 so, the
number has the 1- stripped and then re-added
and my mailer dials 1-912-555-0100 and
attempts to connect...
surely this is the same in other places in the world and works in some
similar fashion with other FTN software than what i currently run...
