Hi Marilyn,
   Thanks for the reply!  It didn't seem to hurt the birds last year or the 
bluejay that ate the beetles just sprayed with the sevin, but I didn't use 
that much of it.  This year I wanted to be more aggressive with the sprays so 
I would have less damage to the leaves, etc., but I quess moderation is 
always 
the best.  I don't use any weed killers either, and my neighbors tell me I am 
working too hard trying to keep the weeds down by hand, but it works.  I'll 
take anything that's green!
