   In an ideal world, anyone should be able to run their own E-mail server and
not have to
work via Relay.    The precedent has been set; many customers are not able to
run their
own mail server from a dialup line because of DialupRBLs, as well as
providers blocking
access to other servers' SMTP ports.

   Would you rather accept E-mail from only certain known E-mail servers, or
from anyone?
One reason you and your customers get so much spam these days is that
spammers break into
10,000 poorly secured DSL boxes and send 50 to 100 E-mails from each
compromised box -
just enough to fly below the radar of SpamCop, RBLs, and the internet provider.
