Which brings up another useless bit of trivia.  Is the fill char still F6h
for floppies?  That's worst-case for MFM.  It was different for RLL (C5?).
Now, it's probably stochastic, like the predictive EC IBM introduced a few
years ago.  AAh,  on Thursdays, at the outside of the disk, at STP, on an
unspared sector, if the moon isn't gibbous, with an uncertainty of <1 in
10^-12.
