GW(>In Oregon it is legal to shoot dogs that are running loose and
GW(>threatening livestock, let alone people.
GW(>Feral cats can also be problems.
MG> Oh, do they chase livestock too? Farmers, of course, have a right to
MG> defend their livelihood, but unless the farmer is raising -- what,
MG> guinee pigs? -- I don't see where any farmer needs to defend his
MG> livestock from cats.
Well mate . . . . did it ever occur to you what a cat can do to a cute
little covey of quivering quail?!? It can buzz-saw through them, turning
them into hamburger meat.
MG> Besides, the intent here is obvious: shoot cats
MG> for fun. No, not even for fun -- shoot cats because you plain don't
MG> like 'em.
Shoot cats because they are trash . . . . just like any other domesticated
animal turned feral! And I'll tell you this, a feral cat is really hard to
get, & when you do, they are one _tough_ sucker.
Feral cats are best taken at long range, with a scoped rifle, like .223 or
.22-250. Otherwise, you can try to take them out with birdshot, when
you're out bird hunting & catch them stalking quail. If you do it with a
pistol, you're probably going to have to really load them down with a lot
of lead.
If you think these disease carrying feral cats are so neat, I suggest you
snatch one up the next time you see it!
You say cat shooting is a felony?!? Next, you'll be telling me to save the
cats & kill the babies . . . . .
