RC>> It's really poor terminology. The port is going to stay at whatever

TR> This is true of *real* DOS, but I'm not sure it's true of the
TR> ports driven by SIO/VSIO for OS/2 native mode and DOS sessions
if you don't have a port speed specified on the SIO command line in the
CONFIG.SYS, the the port is "floating" as far as OS/2 and SIO are concerned.
ie: DEVICE=D:\SIO\SIO.SYS (COM1,3F8,4,-)
(COM2:115200,2F8,3,-)
(COM3:115200,3E8,7:4,-)
(COM4,INTERNET:2E8,NONE:3,-)
(COM5,INTERNET:1F8,NONE:3,-)
(COM6,INTERNET:1E8,NONE:3,-)
(COM7,INTERNET:4F8,NONE:3,-)
(COM8,INTERNET:4E8,NONE:3,-)
COM1 is floating, COM2 and COM3 are locked at 115200 and the other five ports
are virtual modems ;-)
