Christopher Molnar in BBS_INTERNET says he has a server working that has Fido 
conferences available (I'm not sure how many or if SCANRADIO is available).
Per a message from Christopher:
"You can test it out, the NNTP server is open to the public. (newn.com)
Only the fido.* newsgroups are active, don't even try the rest!"
