 I just thought that folks would be interested to know that I 
use my PRO-44 handheld with only a whip antenna & have it 
placed next to, about 12" away, from my IBM PS/2 without any 
ill effects.
 A few frequency areas pick up a bit of noise when I perform
hard disk operations but that is about all.
 I have not tried operating the scanner close to the computer 
with the case cover off.
