I have needed to utilize the warranty of many products. In all of them, a
reasonable COPY of the original receipt was adequate. In warranty issues, I
have found that an itemized WRITTEN receipt is accepted more readily than a
version from the cash register.
If you're going to surrender an ORIGINAL of ANY document, you should always
keep several copies for yourself.

True. I can imagine that a lot of people just don't think that all the
preparation to send in for the small rebates is worth the time and hassle.
