My "first" question would have to be have you installed the patch
(VPPATCH.LZH or possibly another similar name). There was a problem with the
"read" function which was fixed by this patch. In a few
instances, I do recall
changing my code to do a blockread into the variable rather than casting it as
a file of "type". But as I recall the patch fixed that.
