New Web Sites

NASA has a site that is updated frequently with information about the
STS-107 (Columbia) accident at http://www.nasa.gov/columbia/ on the
Web. Much historical information is also available about the Apollo 1
accident at http://history.nasa.gov/Apollo204/ and about the STS-51L
(Challenger) accident at http://history.nasa.gov/sts51l.html , as well
as general Shuttle history at
http://history.nasa.gov/shuttlehistory.html on the Web.

In addition, the NASA History Office has added on-line versions of two
books to its Web site. Biomedical Results of Apollo (SP-368, 1975) is
available at http://history.nasa.gov/SP-368/sp368.htm and What Made
Apollo a Success? (NASA SP-287, 1971) is at
http://history.nasa.gov/SP-287/sp287.htm on the Web. The former was
edited by Richard S. Johnston, Lawrence F. Dietlein, M.D., and
Charles A. Berry, M.D. The latter is a collection of eight articles by
various authors reprinted from the March 1970 issue of Astronautics &
Aeronautics. Special thanks to volunteer Chris Gamble for formatting
these publications for the Web.

Also, Aviation Week and Space Technology is holding a contest in which
the public may vote to pick the top 100 people associated with
flight's first century. This site is available at
http://www.aviationnow.com/Top100/ on the Web.
