JV> It makes for a real nice "back yard", but you have to be careful
JV> to not have many windows facing the tee.
I imagine you do.
JV> I don't know if a cat is any kind of match for a mockinbird. My
JV> mother has about 5-6 stray cats in her neighborhood, but there
JV> is never a scarcity of mockers. I was sitting out in my driveway
JV> one afternoon, reading a book, and a mockingbird was out in
JV> front of me "shrugging" his shoulders. He wanted ME to leave.
Well they don't mind dive bombing cats either, but seem to be
less likely to pick a cat yard to build their nest in I think.
Yeah mockingbirds aren't bashful about asking you to leave.
JV> I like the mockingbirds. They're all welcome here. Someone was
JV> eating my oranges during the winter. Maybe a Blue Jay?
Well I don't mind mockingbirds when they leave some tomatoes for
me and don't try to chase me out of my yard! Probably a
woodpecker, they like to eat oranges, they make a big round hole in
the side of them, but they usually wait till late in the season
when they soft and juicy.. I mostly have trouble with them
getting in the valencias that come in late. But I've watched them
hanging there sucking the juice out.
JV> IS there such a thing as a teenager mockingbird?
OH, I never thought of that one!
