Another tip Wanda is to buy some Mole Foam at the drug store. It will be
ver
with the shoe insert (Dr. Sholls, etc). Cut the mole foam into a 1/2" wide
y
1 1/2" long strip. Remove the paper off the back and put it on the right
and
side (when you are sitting in front looking at the sewing machine) of your
pressure foot (this is the foot that raises and lowers by the lever and holds
the material in place). This will give you a guide for feeding the material
into the machine when sewing. You just make sure that both pieces of fabric
are together properly and then feed them in so that the side that is being
sewn is right up against the edge of the molefoam. This will make all of
our
seams the same size and you will end up with a quilt that the corners have a
good chance of meeting properly. Also gives you less to worry about. The
molefoam keeps the material from going through wrong so all you have to do is
worry about the two pieces of material still being positioned right to go
through the machine. Hope this is clearer than mud!
Later!,
