Descriptions should travel with their files if you copy or move the files
with 4DOS's commands. They won't if you copy/move the files with external
commands or some GUI file manager. The first requisite is of course that
4DOS's descriptions are not turned off in the .INI file or with SETDOS
/D0 and that your descriptions file is indeed named descript.ion.

The order of files in the directory and their order in the descriptions
files are independent. I believe you could append one description file to
another; e.g. COPY DESCRIPT.ION+\another\DESCRIPT.ION will produce a
"merged" file. Any file names mentioned in a description file which don't
exist in a directory will be removed when the next DESCRIBE command is
executed.
