Hi, Bobby;
I sent you netmail about this, but I will state it publically ONCE and
drop it.

As moderator/Co-moderator of several echos in 5 networks as well as being
a SysOp, I have a comment:
It is hard enough to get users to actually access echos, (at least on
this BBS), and I sat here just a couple of days ago and watched a new user
go straight to the CLASSIFIED echo and start reading... the first four
messages he saw were moderation messages, including the COMPLETE rules
for the echo. His reaction? He quit reading the echo and dropped
carrier. As of now, he has not called back!
A suggestion: Please consider using netmail in some cases, particularly
when the poster/violator is the SysOp, (so you KNOW they have access to
netmail). An alternative is to send netmail to the user and CC to the
SysOp.
Do I, as a moderator, post moderation messages in the echos I moderate?
Occasonally, yes, however the only time I post rules in such messages
is the specific rule violated, not the entire set. Those are posted
separately.
Also, if someone happens to have more than one of an item to sell, you
immediately brand them as a business and tell them to go elsewhere. Is
it not possible that someone has half a dozen of something in their closet
gathering dust? Sure it is. I could find half a dozen assorted modems
lying around here gathering dust, and if I chose to advertise them as a
group, I fear that you would brand me as a business, though I am not.
I agree 110% that moderation is required, but IMHO, you are being just a
bit too strict with it. Please bend a little, ok?
My sincere thanks for listening. End of comment and end of thread AFAIAC.
Catch you later... Keep l00king up!
Ivy
