Okay, I'm just waiting until the author "freezes" the features in
the PD version.

That's exactly how I intended to do it.  If a PC can read / write to the
1541 serial port, then it can sit and listen for the 64 to send it
commands.  I'm pretty sure I have the info from the DISK64E author on how
he does it, and there's also an Amiga version of what I want - the author
of that is just a bit slow in answering me!
