Thank you for your answer, I think this will be good enough for my
application, since it isn't too big. I hoped there existed a program which
could check the whole program for syntax errors, without having to run the
program and force the program to execute parts which are normally almost
never executed.

BTW, Very big REXX-programs exist, I know one which is over 200KB. It runs
slowly on my system indeed, but the advantage is that it runs on both OS/2
and VM.
