Think again. Look closer. If a cop beats on protesters, it is 'bad' but may
not be race driven.
Ok, an example. A cop has to shoot someone in line of duty. True lack of
racism means the color of the persons involved, is not an issue so that only
the rightness of the action is the issue. Dont _assume_ because the cop may
have been white, and the person shot may have been black, that racism is part
of the shooting. That vision of it perpetuates racism.
We arent past it totally, but we are really and truely worlds ahead on the
issue over our parents and our kids really wont *care* in most cases about
the color of a person.
I myself am at the point where when asked the color of a person I know, I
have to stop and think most of the time. Unless they have made an issue of
it, I tend to be 'colorblind' and it's hard to remember unless I know them
well enough to actually picture their face mentally. I remember ranks
(military here) fairly well.
