    I have been phoning the publisher (Addison-Wesley Press) about every
two months since last summer, asking when the second edition (listed in
the 1994-95 edition of _Books_in_Print_ as ISBN 0-201-52886-X) would be
available.  By early November (1995), the von Neumann constant was down
to less than a month.  But I called again yesterday (January 2) and was
told the currently scheduled publication date was "indefinite."  Perhaps
it just got too hard for the authors to keep up with the changes in the
OS!
