Hello Joe. 27 Mar 06 12:53, you wrote to me: >> > The one where the country code was 91 and a phone number >> > starting with 1 would cause the same problems here as you >> > may have with the 000 prefix.. We got around it, and so >> > can you guys. >> Be fair Joe, you didn't find the workaround for InterMail by >> yourself either You too needed help from someone else who stumbled >> upon the undocumented feature that blocks 000- numbers. JD> Never said I did. However, I had been using FD prior to IM, and I JD> think it did have a documented method. Correct.... JD> As the code at the time was pretty much the same, InterMail indeed had - and still - has the code in place. But not the corresponding section in the docs. Usually there is a reason for features to be undocumented. It could be that the author just forgot, but in the case of InterMail that is unlikely as Peter Stewart not only inherited the source code but also the docs when the FD team split up. The more likely reason is that there is a bug in it that the author planned to fix later. Undocumented features may have undesirable side effects. That is why I am reluctant to use them. JD> I think I used that, but no longer certain. Someone suggetsed that InterMail users try the FrontDoor method. I tried it and it worked. You could not get it to work at first because you left out the dashed in -Unpublished-. When I pointed that out, you got it to work too. JD> All I was saying up above was that somebody somewhere found a way to JD> not dial 911 and shared it. This was about 000-, not 911-. Anyway, your argument if we can do it, so can they - does not hold. The others may not read the echomail conference it was published in. Lots of people may have missed it. Especially newbies.
