Hello Gaelyne, CB> GG>> Sigh... bloody windows users. CB>> Yup, sigh. Problem is, like Bob L, it works well for me, CB>> with no simple alternative... GG> GG> I don't argue OS's, as each person's preference is their own. Yep, it works for me, so I use it. No need for the loony "improve your life by changing to "xxx" OS" preaching stuff that used to plauge this echo... use what works for you! End of OS discussion ;-) CB>> Thanks for that - the ISP said similar things, though different CB>> server names. I'll give it another go one night this week. GG> Glad to know you got a response from your ISP so soon. One thing I'll give them, they are quick to give tech support answers. Then again, their net access is time charged - guess that (to a degree at least) you get what you pay for. CB> GG>> I'd believe it only when you use it and find it is faster. CB>> I've said the same myself... I'm leaving it till the 30th, CB>> and then see for myself if accessing USA sites are quicker... GG> I don't know what it's like accessing US from Australia, but lately GG> accessing Oz from US is much better than it was. Haven't been in long enough lately to do a before/after the 30th comparison, all I've accessed recently is the local site and email. I'll have a good play with it on the weekend. CB>> You forgot Bob Moran's lies - This is a great and reliable car. GG> I had to stop and think about this one -- ta. I threw that one in to remind you of Oz ;-) GG> It finally clicked when the phrase "Bob Moran Can" went GG> through my mind. Yep, the old Beach Boys song ad: Bob Bob Bob, Bob Bob Moran... GG> Nothing like a bit of home to make you want to stay where GG> you are. ;-) Yep. BTW, the guy hasn't got a good reputation at all, I've heard a few horror stories 'bout that one. I've actually met him once - in the mid-80's just before the mobile phone boom, he came in with the crappiest of old two way radios wanting a cheap repair. He saw my pile of "wrecks" and insisted I use secondhand parts from them in his set, to save him the cost of new parts! I told him to fuck off and never saw him again... CB> GG>> I get the Immigration stuff finished up CB>> Hmmm, you coming back permanantly? GG> No, I'm just gonna come back and root Rod until one of us dies of GG> exhaustion. Sounds like a good way to go! GG> :-) This week I wrote an autobiographical love story. :-) Regards, Chris. --- GoldED* Origin: LBC Electronics (lbc{at}senet.com.au) (3:800/846.5) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 623/630 711/409 413 430 808 809 934 712/515 713/888 SEEN-BY: 714/906 800/1 2 409 419 439 442 447 453 805 810 812 822 843 846 @PATH: 800/846 1 711/808 934 |
