 I suspect a lot of it is related to the massiave shifting of production
to China. While not all their stuff in junk they are still developing
their Quality Control Infrastructure. 
Althouhg soem think it is a Communist Plot to destroy this country. 
Like the Plot by Miscosoft to get the Military to use Windows in their
weapons Control Systems.
