PG>Yeah Kathy! I think I've convinced Molotov not to lay any more eggs this
PG>year. She and Puck aren't getting proper vent to vent contact, and her
PG>eggs are infertile. This is because mating between them starts when
PG>Molotov is rubbing herself against a food dish, and Puck hops on for the
PG>ride.
She needs one of those brown-paper-wrapper catalogs, huh?
PG>I've removed the food dish, so perhaps we'll either not have more eggs or
PG>the next batch will be fertile.
Taking out the competition...that *might* work!
I once had a hen who NEVER mated with the male--she wouldn't even let
him near the box. She'd lay 6 to 8 eggs, incubate fiercely, and attack
the male whenever he crossed an invisible line down the center of the
cage. If I removed the box, THEN she'd do the 'come hither' dance for
him...they never did work out their problems.
