Well, I'm not saying they won't.  Nothing will stop people doing incorrect
things.  The point is the spec won't allow them to and still be conformant.

In terms of FTS-5/5000/5001, what there really needs to be is another
document listing all the things you specifically can't do in the nodelist,
and why, and/or what software will break if you do, because it seems fairly
obvious that people don't want to stop using software from 10+ years ago,
eg. MAKENL.

Yeah, OK.  Just using Parent instead of Uplink should stop any confusion
there.  Hopefully!
