WD>>> Whatever ... for as long as there will be a ZC3 objecting to WD>>> 000-entries in the nodelist I will do my very best to comply WD>>> with such a request. WD>>> ZC3 considers it a problem and that is enough for me. DD> As opposed to anything that furthers *your* agenda? Let's put it this way, David: Suppose that some hypothetical Z1 sysop, let's call him Ron Twit, made such a complete mess of his mailer set-up, that it started to dial his local congressman 200 times in the middle of the night. Said Ron Twit was sentenced and fined for the incident. Now imagine that Janis would actually believe that there are more sysops in zone 1, that are just as stupid and ignorant as Ron Twit, so she decides to filter out all IBN-flags from the zone 1 segment, because Ron Twit told here that's where he made his mistake, and Janis actually believed him. Fair enough, right? But what if Janis then moves on to make you guys in zone 3, as well as all of us in every other zone, *also* remove the IBN flags from *your* segment? Don't you think that you, Ward and Michiel (the only persons I've seen so far advocating the 000 hoax) would go ballistic? WHAT??? SHOULD ZONE 1 TELL US WHAT TO PUT IN OUR NODELIST!?!?!? NO FUCKING WAY!!! But that, my dear friend, is exactly what we in zone 2 have been forced to put up with for more than half a century. A period of time where we have seen thousands of nodes leaving the network, that might otherwise have stayed. Remember that FrontDoor was the most popular mailer around when the first IP nodes emerged, and when there actually were no real alternative mailers available. FrontDoor can dial any 000-number as if it was a regular phone number, if properly set-up, and surely you must admit that having the IP number in the phone field, with a 000 international code, is the most logical way to put it there? ---* Origin: news://felten.yi.org (2:203/2) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 203/2 0 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
