subject: home power files

As some of you know, the Home Power BBS has ceased operation. The sysop,
Michael Welch, has passed the files along to me and I've placed them online
so as to keep them available to everyone. Here's the deal:
My board is and always has been a "Pay Board", but I've made this file area
'Free to All', with no byte limit. There *is* a 30 minute per call time
limit, but almost all the files are under 200K; one is 700+K in size. You can
get the files by doing the following:
Call in to 734-854-6001; all lines are 28.8. Go through the online
registration, then proceed to the download area. From the top-level menu,
it's ownload, then ile areas, then omepower files (DFH).
Telnet to toltbbs.com if you have an Internet connection. Follow above
procedure for logging on and downloading.
Fidonet File Request to 1:234/2. If you request FILES.BBS, you'll get a
listing of all the files available, but I don't have descriptions for all of
them in that file. The important ones are the back issues of Home Power
Magazine, and those are all nnPALL.ZIP, where nn is 1 through 43. F'Req is
supported all the time except during 02:30 -> 03:30 when the board is down
for maintenance.
There is lots of good information here, and we owe a debt of gratitude to
Michael Welch and the folks at Home Power Magazine for making it available.
Further plug:
To subscribe to HP Magazine, call 800-707-6585 or 916-475-0830; fax number is
916-475-0941. Snail Mail address is PO Box 520, Ashland, OR, 97520. They also
have a CD-ROM available with back issues on it. It uses the Adobe Acrobat
Reader from either Windows or a Macintosh and is really slick; I think it
sells for $29.95 or somesuch. The CD-ROM is the only way some of the back
issues are available.
