Hi Roy J. Tellason, hope you are having a nice day WC>>But of course, if I'd had that way back when I'd have recorded WC>>that exchange right to the hard drive ;-) BTW that portable VHF WC>>receiver was variable tuning as well. RJT>The problem with that sort of a setup is that it lacks portability. I RJT>expect we'll see a solution to that before too much more time goes by, RJT>anyhow. RJT>PC-MCIA (?) radio card, in a laptop, maybe? Why not? I've got a couple of surfacemount chips from Analog Devices that are digital synthesizers. One will give you any freq between dc to 62.5mhz in abt any modulation style you can think of 'cept am, and we know how easy that is to do, using either a 14bit serial or parallel input. The 16bit databus used in the older pcmcia spec would do just fine. (pcmcia cardbus spec is 32bit bus) Add a good ADC to the demoded signal and send that to the soundcard chip in the laptop for converting back to audio after some processing and there you go. -=> Yours sincerely, Paul Williams <=- ...
