Two words: deductive logic. While I've never taught that age group, IMHO,
the exposure won't be out of place. Often I see people trying to solve
various computer problems who just stab about in the dark trying to find an
answer. It's nice if there's some sort of logical method to that stabbing in
the dark. :-)
There's a couple of good units on deductive logic that take elements of
pascal and logo and cover the topic for use as an intro programming course.
One could easily spin the logical aspects toward diagnosing hardware problems
or to illustrate how the various components of the hardware and operating
system interact.
