subject: So now some of us are stupid

Hello All!

For years folks have used the zones greater than 6 to operate Non-Fidonet
networks. For years many of us have shared zone numbers with little or no
problems.

Apparently there is a move in Zone 2 by some Fidonet syspps in Russia to
start a new Fidonet Zone 7.

When I've posed questions about how they plan to coordinate this use with
existing Zone 7 users, I haven't received any comments that would lead me
to believe they will consider the kind of cooperative use that exists now.

The FidoNews Editor had this to say:

VD> Please answer, which FIDONET's nodelist has "Othernets"
as Zone 7? Other

   Absolutely true, Vladimir!

I can't believe some people are actually using that as an argument against
forming a zone 7. If someone decided to use FTN for their own project, that's
fine. But if they were stupid enough to use zone number 7, when they have at
least 255 to choose from, any problems *they* run into serves themselves -- to
fidonet it's absolutely no problems.
